W2/WE-098 and US-5098 - Bare Hill Unique Area

October 3rd was the Summit to Summit event for several regions in the US. Just doing a normal activation is always fun and exciting. But the S2S events in my opinion are extra fun because of the increased chance of scoring some S2S points, but the simple thrill of knowing someone else is up on top of a hill / mountain somewhere else makes it extra sweet.

I decided to activate from Bare Hill Unique Area (W2/WE-098 and US-5098) which is a double dip for SOTA and POTA. 

About a mile hike from the parking area, Bare Hill is a beautiful open area on top of a hill overlooking Canandaigua lake. The leaves are just starting to chance and the fall weather was in full effect. 

Crimson and I settled under a tree and I set up a 40m EFHW and went to work.

I picked up a total of 32 QSO and 13 Summit to Summit Contacts. The S2S highlights were Arizona, California and Spain.
